Saber Tiger
Founded in 1981 by guitarist Akihito Kinoshita, Saber Tiger have been a centerpiece of the Japanese metal scene ever since. Their latest album, Bystander Effect (released via Sliptrick Records in March 2018) is the result of the band’s new-found creativity, which has led the band to be rather prolific in more recent years. The LP shows that not only is the band capable of catering to your everyday, die-hard heavy metal fan – they also boast a certain “finesse” and technical proficiency. Fans of traditional, power and even progressive metal will definitely agree that Bystander Effect is anything but average : the intricate yet catchy riffs, the melodies and the powerful, crystal clear production are sure to leave most fans of the genre impressed.
“The release of Bystander Effect is not just a simple re-issue for the international market; four of the tracks, originally in Japanese, have been re-recorded with English lyrics, while the brand new acoustic instrumental ‘Ship Of Theseus’ and a new recording of the Saber Tiger classic ‘First Class Fool’ are exclusive to the Sliptrick Records release. Also, demo recordings of the spectacular tracks ‘Sin Eater’ and ‘What I Used To Be’ are included. There is no better way to get acquainted with Saber Tiger’s unique brand of heavy metal.” – Sliptrick Records.
