Project Description

The band was formed in 2009 by Eliav Torjman, during his high school days in Modiin; soon enough, Yuval Sarfati joined as lead guitarist. In just a few months, Canine started performing all over Israel, developing a typically groove metal sound that was later immortalized in their 2011 E.P Degeneration.
Various lineup changes and military service in the IDF forced Eliav and Yuval to momentarily press pause on their project, but they kept believing in their dream nontheless and stuck to their guns.
In 2014, Eliav decided to step down from vocal duties and was replaced by Ben Saada (ex-Eyes Sewn Shut). With the addition Bar Sasson (ex-Eyes Sewn Shut) on the bass, the group was ready to hit every single stage across the country. Furthermore, the introduction of metalcore elements allowed the band to considerably sharpen their sound, both live and in the studio: aside from landing 2nd place at the Israel Metal Battle 2017, the band also released their debut album The Uprising.
After a year of touring all over Israel and establishing themselves as one of the strongest live acts, Nir Leberstein decided to join as a full-time member of the band. In spite of Yuval Sarfati’s recent departure from the group due to creative differences, Canine is ready to face 2019 headstrong.
